this is a tempera painting by William Blake that i immediately fell in love with a year and a half ago. it burned itself into my mind and took on the role of another tangible object i may use to show others who i am. it is called Agony in the Garden, and describes the events taking place in the heart and mind of Christ as he prayed in agony in the Garden of Gethsemene:

Blake was said to be a "fervent admirer of the Bible, and intimately aquainted with its beauties."
i think his art speaks for itself on that matter.
amazing.
